Author attribution identified from Diego López Cogolludo's Historia de Yucatan, first printed in Madrid, 1688. This diccionario is excerpted from the author's Calepino, published in six volumes, of which he made two holographic sets; one was presented to the Duque de Infantado and the other to a Franciscan convent in Spain; both sets are now reportedly lost

Date of 1577 appears in volume 1, leaf [58] verso; publication date of ca. 1600 to 1630 supplied by JCB description of codex in Catalogue of manuscript codices

Volume 2 is composed in a larger, apparently early 17th century italic hand, augmented or annotated in places in a later hand, a middle or late 17th century cursive
